Two Museums and The Streets of New York City

Taking the subway to 79th Ave. on the west side I visit The New York Historical Museum.
The 1 Subway.
The exhibit I came to see was "The Armory Show 1913". It was to be New York's introduction to modern art.  The exhibit was interesting.  Of course no photography.  I liked a Cezane painting.  It combined traditional painting with modern to help people understand the roots of the modern.
A sketchbook of Maurice Pendergast
Another page from the sketchbook.
The museum also has a collection of Hudson River Valley Paintings.
This is a painting of Thomas Coles art studio.

Nude Descending a Staircase was in the exhibit.  It was much talked about in 1913. I liked seeing the real painting after seeing it reproduced so often.
Nude Descending a Staircase was on the steps outside the museum.
I walked along Central Park.
Getting ready for Macy's Parade.
American Folk Art museum has an exhibit on contemporary quilts.  This one is made of envelopes,
Receipts, tyvec and assorted materials.

A concert is playing as I look at the quilt exhibit.
Back home Elsa is staring to walk holding on to things.
Jacob goes to Karate.
Thomas and grandma Jippy paint.
Papa puzzles before bed.
A good day.
